CR7 is the closest thing Ronaldo has to a self-owned asset class. Registered as a commercial mark in 2013, it now licenses underwear, denim, footwear, eyewear and fragrance across more than fifty countries. The structure is deliberate: a licensee designs, manufactures, ships and carries unsold stock, while Ronaldo supplies the mark and takes a royalty on net sales.
That model is why the business produces an estimated $30–50 million a year in profit without a matching cost base or a meaningful call on his time — the binding constraint for a working footballer. It is also why it survives retirement intact. A royalty on underwear sales in fifty countries does not care whether he is playing.
One number to treat carefully: the €850 million "CR7 brand valuation" that circulates widely comes from third-party brand-valuation consultancies, not from a filing, audit or transaction. It measures brand equity, not a sellable asset, and we exclude it from his net worth entirely.
