Cristiano Ronaldo's Charity & Philanthropy
Ronaldo does not run a named foundation with published accounts, which makes his giving harder to quantify than his earning. What is documented: long-running ambassadorships with Save the Children and UNICEF, funded paediatric cancer and intensive-care facilities in Portugal, repeated disaster-relief donations — and a career-long refusal to get tattooed so he can keep donating blood.

The blood donation, and why it is not a myth
Ronaldo has no tattoos. He has said repeatedly that this is deliberate: tattoo recipients face temporary deferral periods before donating blood, and he wants to remain eligible. He has also spoken about donating bone marrow. It is a small thing next to a billion-dollar fortune, and it is one of the few claims in this area that he has confirmed himself, on the record, more than once.
The Madeira connection
Most of the documented Portuguese giving traces back to Madeira, where he grew up in Funchal in straitened circumstances. Funding for paediatric cancer treatment and intensive-care capacity, auctions of boots and a Ballon d'Or replica for medical causes, and relief donations after the 2010 Madeira floods all cluster around the island.
What we would need to say more
A registered foundation with published accounts, or confirmations from recipient organisations. Neither exists in a form we can cite. If that changes, this page changes — see our methodology for how we treat unverifiable claims.
