Gross, net and why the numbers look inconsistent
Spanish and Italian contracts are negotiated and reported net of tax, English and Saudi ones gross. A €31 million net Juventus salary cost the club roughly €64 million gross; a €200 million Saudi salary costs Al Nassr €200 million because there is no personal income tax to gross up for.
