Ronaldo owns 15% of Al Nassr, the club that employs him, and 25% of UD Almería, bought for a reported €25 million in February 2026. Outside football he holds undisclosed stakes in WHOOP, valued at $10.1 billion, in the AI search engine Perplexity, in the football game UFL and in the Portuguese media group Medialivre. This is the newest part of the fortune: since 2023 he has taken ownership where he used to take a fee.

Where the numbers get soft
Why has Ronaldo started taking equity instead of fees?
For twenty years his off-field income was fees: appear in the campaign, wear the boots, collect the cheque. Since 2024 a second form of payment has appeared alongside the cheque. The WHOOP deal made him an investor as well as an ambassador, Therabody is structured the same way, and the Binance partnership pays a share of NFT revenue. Each of those leaves an asset on his balance sheet once the campaign has run.
The consequence shows up in what moves his wealth. A fee arrives once and is banked. A stake reprices on someone else's schedule: WHOOP's $575 million Series D in March 2025 valued the company at $10.1 billion while he did nothing, and a round that never comes would leave a position flat for years. Concentration matters here too. Two of the disclosed positions are football clubs, and one of them is the club that pays his wages, so his salary and that stake now turn on the same owner.
Why did Ronaldo buy 25% of UD Almería?
He paid a reported €25 million in February 2026, through CR7 Sports Investments and alongside majority owner SMC Group. It is the only club he owns without also playing for it, and the bet is promotion: a Segunda División club's value tracks the division it plays in, and Almería is pushing for LaLiga. Beyond the €25 million purchase price no public valuation for the club exists, so we carry the position at what he paid.
